SPIRITUAL PASSPORT

In a dream of the LORD, saw the evangelism team led by our Pastor and were preparing to fly and i saw their PASSPORTS ready.

So what is a passport?

Its a very important document that one uses to travel from one country to another. In other terms,  its a command from one country’s government to the country one wants to visit, allows you to enter its territory and look after you while you are there.

It’s almost impossible to enter a foreign country without a valid passport. When you arrive in the foreign country you line up at the immigration control to have your passport examined and sometimes the official will check on a list to see if your name is someone who the country doesn’t want(intruder, terrorist etc).

The reason I’ve told you about the passport is to show you that our life on Earth is a journey to another life(The one that the spirit and soul have after our body dies)

The Lord Jesus came from that life to the Earth to make it possible for us to go to heaven.

So, you must have your own passport, It must be current, it must not be a fake or forgery and it must be recognised by the government.

However, the christian passport is not a document like those issued by governments and nations, but a letter written by our Lord on our hearts for the kingdom of God is more like a family than a nation, and its members are more like brothers and sisters than citizens and taxpayers.

Without the right passport, there is no entry into God’s kingdom. Heaven’s passport is not given because we are religious, moral, wealthy, educated, Protestant, or any other qualification. This passport is given by the grace of God bringing us to birth through the gospel. For Jesus assured us that without this rebirth we will never enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3)

John 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Our passport is the reality of changed lives in the Light of Jesus Christ. We may speak with different accents, and even different languages, but yet the message of our hearts is one and our common experience and understanding of Jesus’ death and resurrection for us means we are able to talk to each other’s hearts and share the great truths of God.

The passport of heaven operates now in this world, as all Christians can testify, for we have already been raised up to sit with Christ and each other in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:4-6).

Ephesians 2:4-6

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

The book of the Revelation makes it clear that heaven will be open only for those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 21:27

But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

That’s the document in which we must be sure we have are names inscribed. Jesus illustrated this in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats ( Matt 25:21-46 ).

 

He looks forward in time to the day of judgement when "He will separate the people one from another", the righteous from the wicked.
